Home Of The Lightkeeper

Sale Price: $175.00 Original Price: $350.00

8×10 oil on cradled gessoboard, painted on location at the lightkeeper’s house in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Currently UNFRAMED with edges painted black but also available framed. Satin varnished for depth and protection.

In this house lived 4 generations of lighthouse keepers at Concord Point. After the switch from whale oil lamps to electricity in the lighthouse, this house served many purposes, as a boarding house, a restaurant, a bar, and finally a museum. The original structure is entombed inside of these additions, whose roofs of different pitches I find very interesting.
